At New Brighton, all students are expected to be reading a personally selected novel 30 minutes per day, ideally at or above their assessed reading level. We use a program called Accelerated Reader, which counts for 10% of their Language Arts grade.
*****50% of each student's AR goal is marked for the first progress report (Week 5), and 100% is expected by quarter's end.***** Progress is updated on Illuminate on the 1st and 15th of the month after the first progress report.
Quizzes are taken at school under a teacher or librarian's supervision. The reading goal is set according to each student's assessed reading level.
